London based artist Tom Phillips (1937-2022) had a diverse and extensive career, dabbling across many mediums and subject matter. A figurative and abstract painter, Phillips had a love of typography as an art unto itself. He was even art teacher to Brian Eno! His life and works are worth reading about, and may we all have such a life long passion for what we do. "Benches" was part of his "20 Sites" project that he worked on for decades.
