This desk is a rare find indeed, and a wonderful conversation piece for your home or office! Mayan Revival was a popular style in architecture from the 1920s to the 1930s and was popularized by the likes of American Architect Frank Lloyd Wright (be sure to look up the iconic Hollyhock House in LA, California!). This style had a small renaissance in the 50s and 60s, which is when this desk was most likely made by a craftsman in Central America. Beautiful and thoughtful hand construction throughout. Desk has a glass top (not original - minor scratches) to protect it and give a smooth work surface. Upper portion of desk sits on top of sleigh style leg base. Desk features six drawers - top left drawer is missing bottom "lip" and bottom left drawer has had repair work to top "lip" - please see all photos. Some wear to finish around edges on desk top consistent with age and use. You simply have to visit this one of a kind piece in person!
