Collection: Alix Tobey Southwick
Alix Tobey Southwick is a visual artist who lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
She studied art as a child at the Corcoran School and Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., and got her BFA in Sculpture at the School of Art at Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond, Virginia.
Alix has shown her work in numerous solo and group shows in the Mid Atlantic area, restored early 20th Century murals, and has produced work for various theater, television and film productions, and advertising. She is a member of the Screen Mechanics Union, IATSE. Her short animated film THE FRENCH TOAST MAN, made with documentary filmmaker Skizz Czyzk, has been screening internationally
in various film festivals, and is an extra selection on the DVD of ICEPICK TO THE MOON, Czyzk's feature length documentary about countercultural Muscian and Artist Rev. Fred Lane.
Alix's inspiration comes from her lifelong love of Nature, Film, and a good story to tell.
