Hedredon was founded in Morganton, NC in 1945 by four men that had worked together at Lenoir Chair Company before the Great Depression. The company name is a combination of their first names; Henry Wilson, Ralph Edwards, Donnell VanOppen, and John Harris. Through out the 50s and 6os they gained a reputation for producing some of the finest furniture in the States, and were used in many upscale homes and hotels. During the 70s and 80s they introduced new collections by notable designers such as Frank Lloyd Wright and Dorothy Draper. Hedredon is still in production and world renown for quality of construction and design, and is highly collectable. This set of 6 dinning chairs have comfortable cane backs and black vinyl seats - gold cord tassels have been added at some point to elevate their look even further. Gorgeous at any table! Some chair backs have losses to finish from years of use - please see all photos and feel free to email us if additional ones are needed. Seats are all in good shape.
